Maximized Living Makeover
Read: Practice--Not Perfect!
by Dr. Greg Loman
The definition of perfection is to be engulfed in a state of "being without flaw or in a state of completeness".1While I don't know about you, I do know that I would not want to spend the rest of my life chasing the ideology surrounding flawlessness. I would not want to add this undue stress upon my family or myself. While there are the select few that refuse to see their own flaws, take my advice--just ask those closest to you. My wife could write a book on the flaws that I unknowingly possess. Once we admit to our flaws, as well as the miserable condition of life if we tried to fix each and every one, we can rest and realize that our existence as human kind is quite alright, even with the flaws.
Of course, flaws come with human nature, yet the idea of completeness is something I do like to idealize. Imagine how your self-esteem, as well as your day to day life would be if you were able to look at yourself in the mirror at night and grant yourself a much needed pat on the back by saying, "Congratulations...you completed the day! You put your best effort in and will continue to do so tomorrow."
Writing the beginner section to the Maximized Living Makeover was very powerful for me. As a person who lives more of an Intermediate to Elite lifestyle, it forced me to go back to a point in my life where you could not have found a complete month, week or even day in my life. My life did not have a complete start or end to the day, and as I looked back it was apparent that I never even recognized that my life was a mess. I know some of you may feel the same as you read these words.
I am here to tell you that it is okay to feel this way. If you feel that your life is not exactly on the path you'd like it to be, you have the ability to change it! The greatest thing that will happen to you is for you to recognize the problems, and attempt to fix them. One reason many people live an entire lifetime without reaching their personal goals or attaining true happiness is due to their inability to recognize their life is a mess, and take the proactive steps to fix it!
Another large mistake some people make is to think that when they identify a lack of completeness in their exercise, time management, eating, or overall health is that it can be fixed tomorrow. For myself, it took years to build up to a person living the Maximized Living lifestyle and I still have many more layers of my own self to develop.
As you read the Maximized Living book and engage in the Makeover on-line, you will learn to be okay with getting better slowly every day. For many of you, it may require participating in multiple Maximized Living Makeover's before you make it a habit to develop completeness.
If you are like me, trying to better your life without the help of qualified people can be frustrating and often times highly ineffective. Make sure that you get a qualified coach, find a Maximized Living Doctor, and get under consistent Wellness Chiropractic care, as well as engaging in their health workshops!
